price for serious modding

for those of you who got turbos, nitrous or superchargers installed in their cars: how much did you pay for the part to be installed and how much did you pay for the fuel upgrade and did you upgrade the engine so the internals are stronger?

I had the S/C installed on a gen 4. It was $450 fro installation at Toyota. Didn't work on internals, because 4psi isn't much at all. I got a Safc2($275) for air/fuel tuning.

I've got an SC. I paid about 5hrs worth of labour for installation. I haven't upgraded any fuel related parts (ie. pump, injectors, filter, lines). You can get an idea of what these things would cost by checking out RC engineering for injectors and Walbro for pumps. URD also has kits avail.

As for internals, that can vary widely depending on how far you intend to go and the availabilty of parts.

Too really run some boost, it is going to cost you your ass twice over to upgrade the internals and labor.

Boost is the last thing you want to do if you want real power (high psi). First you'll want to majorly build up the rest of the engine. Boost is your last worry.

Phi, you didn't do the install yourself? Your no longer my hero

No. Although it comes with full instructions and alot of ppl have DIY'd, inevitably there are always problems and I wasn't prepared for the hassle.

If not hero, can we still be lovers?

Of Course!!!!! Weekends have never been so much
.. And every other thursday (cause you always have someone booked )

I was too cheap to buy a real nitrous kit, so I just run some hose to my intake, and whenever I need a boost, I just spray some banaca into it
