yes, you def. can have auto start on a manual...a few of my friends do
not sure if they had to bypass the clutch start switch, but it seems to make sense that they would...however, i'm not too sure if the stress is noticeably greater or what...i believe the s2k has a push button start and you don't have to depress the clutch the start the car...now i don't know if that means it's ok to not depress it...
a lot of people park there car in neutral around here...but then again, i rarely ever see an inclined street in which to park around where i live so i suppose relying on just the ebrake is no big deal for us
edit: you'd also have to do something about the park/neutral switch that the car sees to make sure you don't engage in a different gear...i read about an accord who did something when he went to auto -> manual but haven't seen anything about it on a camry so not sure if it's difficult or not
