Time for new clutch(?)

I was "compairing my Camry" to some "souped up" Jetta and I noticed that whenever I shifted, the clutch/flywheel or something was not catching. I would shift into 3rd from, lets say, 4000rpm in 2nd. I would release clutch pedal and I would gas it and it would just stay at 4000rpm.

I think it may be the time to buy a Stage III clutch and carbon flywheel.

Opinions please.

Definitely sounds like its slipping a little. If it's only for a split-second or two, you've got some time, but if it's slipping much longer than that or the revs flare up before the clutch catches you're nearing the end. What you describe sounds like what was going on with my old gen2's clutch when I first got it.

Steve

PS- wouldnt a stage III clutch and carbon flywheel be a little excessive? I'd be afraid of stalling all the time drving arund town...

It was spooling at 4grand for some time. 3 seconds before i punched in the clutch, turned on my flashers and pulled over.

She was fine after.

When they start slipping they will unavoidably die shortly
