Depending on the condition of your engine, I'd say scrap the swap and build a custom turbo kit for the 2VZ. That would be awesome. You could probably pull it off for around the same price or cheaper than the 3S-GTE and not have to mess with a completely new harness/ECU, which suck (take it from me). Anyway, just an idea.

What I wanna know is, does the 3sgte bolt up using the current mounts?
Yes it does bolt up using the current mounts and while a turbo V6 may be sweet if you can pull it off, There is little to no extra room in the engine bay, it won't be any cheaper than a 3sgte swap, it will make less power(initially at least), and it will need more tuning.

Ok cool..
Another question..Does a 5sfe tranny bolt up to the 2.5 V6?

Torque is where the V6 would have it, and uniqueness. I would like to see someone do to a gen 2 V6 what Tony has done to his gen 3.

Rightside motor mount is different actually. To do the swap, you would need to weld on a new bracket on that side. Plus the harness would have to be modified heavily if not a whole new harness. Turbo would be a nice alternative but there isn't enough room. Gen. 3 has significantly more room in the engine bay than a Gen. 2 with a V6 has. There really isn't a good alternative with a 2vzfe. Stick with it and do light mods or go through the ordeal of a 3sgte swap that isn't as easy as it sounds.....
Pay someone to do the swap fo you. May not be simple but it's worth it. That sucks that you have to modify it on the V6. I have never heard that before. It's definitely a direct swap on the 4 cyl.

K..heres the real deal..
My alltrac camry was hit in the front. Has some good damage, but can be fixed. I just need the parts. My '95 celica has a blown motor. Since I'm on a huge budget, I'm having trouble getting a motor for my celica. At the same time, my camry needs fixing. And well, I found a '90 V6 camry for $350. So I figure, maybe I can buy that camry and use what I need to fix my alltrac with. At the same time, I'll try and swap that motor into my celica. I get both cars fixed, and everyones happy. Mostly me of course. The problem, not sure how the V6 will fit and I'd like to keep the car a manual. I hate driving automatics. So, thats the reasons for my questions.
Why didn't I just ask all my questions and concerns straight out? I tried, but no one replied. And so I figured that if I say something bout a 3sgte. Then it'll grab someone's attention and get replies. It worked didn't it?
But yes, I know there will be a whole lot of work with wiring and such if I go with the swap. Right now, I'm running out of options though. I have two cars that I can't even drive. So if I'm gonna buy a parts car to fix one car, its best if I buy it to fix both cars. I just wanna gather some information before I decide to go along with it.

Yep.. Its not really an awd engine. Its all in the transmission. You just need a fwd tranny that can take the beating of the extra power.
Oh, I was always taught that it wouldn't work, because the engine would be set up to send power to all four wheels, when it only needs to send them to two.

Look at it this way. The eclipse gst and gsx shares the same exact motor. A gst is fwd while a gsx is awd drive. What do you think makes this work out? Its the transmission. Thats it. You can swap the engine from one to the other and there will be no difference.
Look at is this way too. The mr2 shares the same motor as the celica. mr2 is rwd while celica is fwd. You can also take a motor from an mr2 and drop it into a celica. Won't really make a difference.
So yeah, you can take the engine from an alltrac and drop it into your fwd camry or celica. You just won't be able to use the awd tranny from the alltrac.
