First of all, this is the situation...
The only reason Johnson @ Ultimate decided to do this was because he was promised at least 10 orders for one of these pipes so at least it would be worth it for him to prototype a new jig for our cars. Well it turned out that only Dickson and I ended up getting the pipe and now Ultimate is screwed, and me and Dickson are screwed. Because of how things ended up, Ultimate couldn't justify throwing in the Hi-Flow Cat like they promised because they would be losing more money than they already are. I don't blame them because they were promised 10 orders aswell. Now Dickson and I have to pay extra for the cats, which i had to pass up simply because I can't justify paying anymore than $750 for a y-pipe + cat. This isn't cool. Also, Ultimate lost even more than they should have because the pipe is different for the 94 1MZ, 96 1MZ, and 2000+ 1MZ. So they have 3 jigs and 3 orders, which = big loss. Basically Johnson, Dickson, and I were left holding our dicks on this one because people didn't keep their word.

Anyways, my impressions with the pipe (mind you, im running mad rich because my check engine light is on) is just the damn torque it gives, damn. Also on the highway the car feels so much lighter mostly because of the massive restriction that has been relieved with the pipe. Throttle response, especially on the highway is definitely noticeable and the sound of my exhaust has gotten a small growl to it now at idle and when accellerating from a stop. Im just waiting for my CAI and for my check engine light to be resolved next week, then ill hit the dyno very soon after. It doesnt interest me too much how much gains i get from each individual mod, rather the final product which is what matters to me, then i can just speculate from there. After that, im pretty much done most of my BPU, so ill be looking into an SAFC to flatten out my air/fuel mixture throughtout the RPM band and see some gains all throughout the RPM band, even though it may not be peak power or torque. If it flattens out my torque curve and maybe raises the peak torque by 1-2 lbs/ft then it'll be worth it.

latez.

Damn, I didn't know the groupbuy turned out like that. If I didn't replace my flex pipe last year, I would've bought for sure. For the people who backed out, you guys suck big time.

Can't wait to see your dyno figures Ratko...any expectations? I'm thinking around 175 whp? I hope you're using good tires this time!

My expectations are around 180+ hp and 190+ torque after the CAI is on and the check engine light is fixed. But I guess we'll have to see.

Ill do the first 2 runs with my new wheels and rubber , and 1 run with my steelies and old tires cuz they're lighter and maybe i will see some difference so i can compare the loss with my 17's.
