5th Gen Replacement Seats

I was consider trying to put some lexus or avalon leather seats in my 2004 camry. Does anyone know what cars seats will fit front and rear. Also how about the wiring harness?

Thanks
Marshall

The closest ones will probably the es330. You can also have your seat rewrapped in leather.

hey trdcamry,

well i was wondering, if one to rewrap the camry seats for the 2002- current+ how much would an estimate would be?
would the leather material/cover/skin i don't know what it's called, could it be purchased at the dealership, if so how much is the average, and does the dealership has the ability to install them too? or do they recommend someone else instead of the factory dealership to install...

thanks in advance

Most dealers (in my area anyway) don't do this work themselves, they send it out to an outside shop. Unless you are going to pay the big bucks to have it wrapped in OEM leather (big-big-big bucks).

You can save the markup the dealer would charge by going to the aftermarket shop yourself. Depending on where you live, there may be just a few shops to choose from, or like the Milwaukee area, which has many.

In my area, most shops that put in aftermarket sunroofs, pinstripes, tinting, ect..... will put in leather as well. How much it will cost will definately depend on what you want (in terms of quality). You can have just the front of the seats covered in leather, you can have custom embroidery, and a million different options. Do your homework, and then sit down with someone from the shop to decide what you want, and what you can afford.

It will cost anywhere from $600 for a cheap job, to about a grand for a half decent job, and then the sky is the limit if you want a fully custom, embroidered with cursive lettering, bling-bling, two-tone extraviganza.

Keep in mind that if you buy the cheapo $600 leather, it probably won't be the same quality as the more expensive stuff. It won't hold up as well, and might be more prone to cracking, discoloration, ect...

I only know this because my sister looked into buying a Civic EX with leather, and the dealer was nice enough to explain how dealers put leather in cars that don't come with it. He told her it would cost about $1000, which he freely told her was a rip off. She bought a Integra instead, which came with leather standard.

hey 98camryle,

thanks for the response!

i have a question though, in your opinion if to have leather done or other kind of materials etc... which would be the most comfortable?

currently i don't like my black cloth in my camry, it mainly attracts too much lint from the clothing, and other little specs from whatever the seat catches. to me it's too annoying to have it detailed especially, when those lint brushes/sticky tape rollers they're junks.

Personally, I don't like leather. It may be easier to clean, but it can crack and is really hot in summer, cold in winter.

Some people think that leather is comfy, I sweat to death in summer, so I hate it. I think cloth is way more comfy, but it is just preference. What I think is comfy and what you think is comfy could be different.

If you are really serious about spending the money, go to the dealer and test drive a camry with leather. Put your butt to work.

or maybe just get seatcovers. Lots cheaper. Look in the back of a Motor Trend or CarandDriver for Ads.

thanks for the response 98camry,

just to me i don't like my cloth seat, i mean out of all the cloth seat i like, but mine just catches too much dirty spec materials and it bugs me a lot... and leather yeah it's quite a work too to take care but cleaning is alright, i was wondering if sheep skin or those whatever cover would do the job? but i'm not quite sure if it looks that great so far, since i don't see many companies in my state area that makes them... it's just so dang tough
