i dont know how to get to the bulbs behind the AC controls either, i unscrewed everything and it wouldnt come out, if i pull it hard, i was bound to break something , so i left it alone for now.
anyway, the Ignition ring, Lighter, and ashtray are all 74 size bulbs as far as i know.....
they are easy to get out, just twist the bulb holder and out it comes
if you guys had a pic of your ac knobs it might help... i have the xle trim and the knobs might be different. for me, i have 2 knobs, then all the buttons to the right of the knobs on the same panel.
once i got the dash off, i unscrewed the 4 tiny screws around the front plate around the ac knobs. next you have to undo the clips, there are clips on the top and bottom. it should come off once the clips are out. let me know if this helps

your ac ctrls are much different than mine, i only have two knobs. but the hot/cold knob (and the other ones) should be able to slip off. remove these first.
the clips are on the bezel around the knobs... this bezel also has screws. first unscrew the whole housing and pull it out a little to get a better angle at the screws. undo the screws around the bezel (they should be little ones) then undo the clips. let me know if you still need help

instead of starting a new thread...i've got a big favor to ask one of the mods....is it possible to sticky a master list of the interior bulb numbers for each gen camry...i think it would not only help me but it would also help others who want to replace their interior lights...the one 10 page thread about the interior lighting is too confusing to pull all the right info out of
