Engine Check Light.....

engine check light is on..
2000 camry le 4 cyl. 49000km
has any other gen 4.5 owners had this problem? costs 90 bucks just to inspect, is it worth it or is it probably something little.. and does disconnecting the negative charge on the battery trick work in resetting the engine light?

what's the most common problem for triggering off the engine light?

help would be appreciated. thanks.

Autozone will check it for you for free. Stop going to the dealership. They would bend you over if they could.

are the obd2 scanners on ebay worth the investment and will they work? is it universal and do the codes mean the same from one car to another?

yes they work from car to car, but if you can get it done for free i dont think it worth it to buy them unless you plan on working on cars alot.
