-head gasket oil leak. after replacin the rear main seal, notice leaks around the head gasket bacl of the 4th piston. does this mean that the head gasket is out and the piston ring or the bore is worn out?

-how extensive would this repair goes for a DIY?

Hello there !

Are you sure it's not just the valve cover gasket ? (if it is then this is really nothing very serious...) Does your car overheat ? white smoke from the exhaust ? Then it might be the head gasket : that is a pain to replace. Give us a bit more details and we' should be able to tell you what's going on...
