Black Pearl Emblems

Here's an oddball question. Did Toyota ever have a black pearl emblem upgrade that could be ordered from a dealer for the second generation Avalon XLS?

I have a lunar mist metallic (dorkspeak for silver) '00 Avalon XLS that currently has the gold emblems on it. I like them, but I'm not married to them. If there was a black pearl upgrade available, I might be interested in seeing how they look. Currently, I have stock 16s on it, but I've kicked around the idea of putting on 17s and matching them to the emblems if such things were available.

Here's the second part of the question. If these emblems ARE available, can anyone scrounge up some pictures or photochop something and post it up? If an Avalon like this is on the streets somewhere and there's a picture of it, it'd be cool to see it and if it looks nice or not so good.

Thanks!

I went to the dealer a while back and asked about ordering them, and the guy gave me some line of shit about that I can only get them if I order a whole trunk.

So if anyone knows about these emblems, I would also like to know.

For the gold emblems they paint them with this special paint that is electrically charged to get its gold color. The paint is red then when it is charged it turns gold. I think they do the same thing for the black pearl.

I bought just the Toyota Symbol in black pearl for the back of my Celica. Cost me 40 bucks with my discount.

give it a few coats of black spraypaint, then a few of clear coat, and you're done

Look on ebay. They have tons of gold emblem kits, and dirt cheap compared to dealers.

Amen to that.

You could also say the same for most Toyota OEM parts and accessories.

Just spray paint them yourself, using either enamel black or flat black. depending how you want it.
