WTF? Trans problem?
Last week, I dropped the trans fluid in my Camry (5 speed) and replaced it with 2 quarts 80w-90 gear oil and 1 quart ATF... it had been hard to shift, so I figured this would be a good thing for it, seeing as the original crashbox has 156k on it and I didn't know if the fluid had ever been changed (clutch is original).
Well, instead of getting better, the problem seems to have gotten slightly worse, especially when shifting from Third to Fourth or back to Fourth from Fifth. Shifting to Third has also become more difficult. Why would that be? I was gonna go to Synchromesh around November-ish but the way the car is shifting I figure that should now be done ASAP.
