sway bar bushing & exhaust questions

Hi all-

I was told about a year ago when i had my 95 LE V6 in for some brake work that the rear sway bar bushings were going bad. Recently i hear alot of clunking when going over bumps. How hard is it to replace these? What tools are required?

Also i am selling my old porsche and thinking of using some of the $ to put on a new exhaust. Im thinking of a magnaflow 14816 muffler with a new resonator. I want a nice sound but nothing out of hand. Anyone know where i can find magnaflow online? Ive seen some on ebay.

thanks,
-j

The swaybar bushings are easy to replace.

You need a socket (its either 12mm or 14mm, I forget), ratchet, and some WD 40 / PB Blaster, etc...

Very esasy DIY. Get the busshings from a dealer and install them. No need to jack the car.

I would stay away from Magnaflow and go with Apex'i. The Apex'i worldsport is actually pretty quiet adding a slight growl in the higher RPMs. I've had a Magnaflow and it was a little too loud for me, but then again, I did get a universal fit one. The Apex'i cat back systems are amazingly crafted and solid.

Are you suggesting that a non-universal magna flow wouldnt be as loud?
Im in the market for an exaust for my 96 le v6 but Im looking for something that is going to accent and amplify slightly the sound of my engine, something that sounds like maybe a infinity G35 coupe or FX45/35 but with a bit more of a growl. I defenatly do not want a juice can and something so loud anyone could hear my car from 5 blocks away, you know just something that one hears once its passed by.
Suggestions?

I replaced the sway bar bushings last night, took me all of 30 minutes. No more clunking in the back and the car rides much better than before. Paid $13 each from the dealer.

thanks for all of the replies!
