I noticed that you can buy a spray specifically for redding out tails, I'm curious of if anyone has experience with it... particularly if it'll match the color of my gen3's center-piece. I don't want to paint the center piece (I like the look of it) but would rather have all red tails.
I've also ordered my mandrel bent tubing for my CAI along with the K&N 2.5" X-stream filter, after hunting through to find a vendor that has it, and I received my new bulbs.
I can finally say that I've found a corner bulb that doesn't look yellow, doesn't look blue and is by far the brightest I've seen, and owned (which is about 5 different pairs).
The lights are Polarg 168 hyper-brights, rated at 18w and they're massive, in comparison to the 194's I had in there before, that put out 5w, although along with size comes brightness. I'll take some pictures soon.
Originally posted by Silver Streak Ahh, I wouldn't spend my money on that stuff. Just go to Walmart and buy some stained glass spray. Only $5.99 a bottle, that's what I used.
I'd be down for that, but my only issue is that the color will match up with the center piece.

18 watts for corners? That's bright man! Take a pic of this bulb too!
Yeah, they look incredible in there. I just took some pictures with my ancient digital camera.
I'll take pictures with my SLR next time I go shooting, and take the negatives to wal-mart so I can get some digi-pics of a better quality.
I'll post one of the pictures soon, I'm just resizing it real quickly.
it will probably match... ids say go get some testors paint , red cherry or something. there was another thread on making the corner red some where else; go look there.

I've looked at that, which said to use transluscent model paint, but no one hadn't painted their center piece who did that mod. My question wasn't on what to use, my question was what to use to match the center-piece.
you can either get the krylon red stained glass spray paint which you can buy at like hobby lobby for $6 a can or you can get the transparent candy apple red made by testors at wal-mart for $2 a can (short cans)
as far as matching...i am in the process of working with my tails right now as well. i have both paints now as well. the krylon paint has to be sprayed VERY lightly to match correctly...it gets very dark very fast.
the testors candy apple matches very well and IMO is easier to spray & work with. i personally prefer it to the krylon, it adheres to the plastic well and does not drip or bubble if you spray it lightly etc.
good luck with the project, hope this helps
Keri
