the thing throttle body spacers are used for mostly is to increase tq not hp. most places i look say it gives you between 2-8hp and 9-18tq. now if we can get more tq out of our engines then we can get off the line faster. and that would be awsome.
mox: how thick would they be? will there be a swirl design in it lik most others have?

I will start with a 'no swirl' design first to see what it gives on a dyno.. after that I may come with a swirl design.
For the thickness, I have no idea.. I will start with 1.5-2" thick and see the difference by trying different tickness.

is there a way you can make one to help produce alot of tq? cause thats what our cars need off the line. i'v raced my buddy and he got off the line quicker than i did but when i reached my power band i passed him. if i can get that boost of tq at about 1500-2000 rpms that would be awsome especially if it increases along with the power band. just some suggestions

I have no idea what are the specs to do that...
Maybe it needs more than just a spacer to help your low end torque..
I will try different designs and I'll keep the one that works the best

The thing is, I'm not entirely sure its gonna work all that well. That whole ACIS deal is to give the intake a longer path at low RPM's for more torque. Not to piss in your cornflakes or anything... If it works and you have dyno graphs to prove it, I'll buy one! Thats one thing that pisses me off about most mods "Gain 10 HP" (at 5800 RPM's and lose 30 at 2000 RPM's) I wanna see dyno charts on everything!

They should be made from phenolic to minimize heat transfer. I would say 1" would be the most you'd want to go to prevent hose reach problems. The throttle body coolant line should also be bypassed or you'd be defeating the purpose by heating the throttle body with hot coolant. Even better would be a phenolic gasket for where the intake plenum meets the intake manifold.
