Question Power steering pump?!?!

the little ticking noise i keep hear my dad suggested i try to get a new pump ?!?! anyone thinks that could be it. He said because if you just turn the wheel back and forth as you turn you start hearing it get louder its a little anoying to be honest, can anyone suggest sumthing???

is it a loud screachin noise because that is the power steering belt. my car deos the same. its just loose because mechanics dont tighten it all the way or it could break the power steering pump and that cost a shit load of money

^ a properly tightened belt won't damage your pump. A slipping belt will however. I'd rec. tightening your belt. Also check to see if there is oil on the belt. It could be screeching from oil dripping onto it from your ps pump or something else.
