OMG guys, about 10-15 minutes ago I could have been a dead man:

Was getting on 270 [were talkin columbus oh] to head off for class. Was accelerating at a moderate pace with a uhal thing in front of me and a big pickup behind. The pickup behind is really anxious to get on the highway. Anyways, as all 3 of us merge over into the number 1 lane, I catch the sight of a green saturn out of the corner of my eye: right next to me: like fricken 3 inches next to me it seemed. Must have paniced and hit the brakes - i didnt think I hit them _that_ hard - and the next thing i know by brakes are locked up and I'm scidding. I start spinning clockwise, but then I over compensate and I go counter-clockwise. I scidded across all 3 south-bound lanes, plowed over the grass divided and then across into the number 1 north-bound lane (thats 5 lanes I've slid through and landed in the sixth). With what little sense I had ahold of I gunned it to get completely off the road (was facing forward thankfully). There wasnt a single collision! OMFG, I'm still kinda shaken a little.

The car itself seems to be fine except for what looks to be a real lack of tread on the tires.

All I can wonder is what the other folks around me saw. *sheesh*

Take care everyone - and remember to always DOUBLE check your blind spot!!!

Man....that was really fortunate....glad to hear you came out without a scratch on you or the car. It really does show you how dangerous it can be....or how luck comes into play. I tell you about 3 years ago I was driving in a heavy downpour in Columbia, SC when I decided to change lanes from the far right the the far left lane to get out of the slowed traffic. Not maybe 10 seconds after I changed lanes I saw cars just piling up...one after another...in the far right hand lane. Ended up 4 people died in the wreck, 12 cars involved, and 2 horses that were being trailered had to be put to sleep. If I had not moved lanes I would have been in that wreck....just proves you guys must be careful. Glad to hear you are alright though!

Just south of the Hilliard on-off ramps. I'm not sure if there are any easily visible skid marks or not, but I do know I did plow a decent amount of mud onto the north-bound lanes.

On ramps can be scary. Where I live, we go through a slow speed turn at around 20-30mph, then we have 100ft or so to check the lane, and decide whether to accelerate or slow down. And of course other people are trying to come into your lane for the exit. Sometimes I can't even get on and just stay in the lane for the next exit. On some freeways, you even have to come to a stop sign before gunning it to merge.

he he, just yesterday I was nearly killed. Rainging, and here I am in my brothers Chevy Blazer, heavy ass end and rear wheel drive with a throttle I am not use to. So i am making a left, rather slowly due to the reasons stated above. Upod doing so, the vehicle infront of me (the 5-0) nailed its breaks to nab a "perp". Well... I feel the need to NOT ass rape the Cop in front of me, and hit my breaks with a medium strong force, which is the same ammount I use in the Camry. Well, I start to slid a little, but I am sure I will be fine because the Cop is pulling off quick as hell, now a car is coming behind me REALLLLLLLLLY f**king fast. Still sliding, and not wanting to screw up John's (brother) car, I give a little gas... well a little is not what I got, since I was sliding on a minor angle due to the cop, my ass end flys to my right. I compensate enough to bring the suv to a complete and jerking stop.... with the yellow line bisecting the car. Waiting to hear the speeder slam into me, I look out my window, and see the speeder no more than three inches from my door. If I had not slid, I would have been hit from the rear, and guarenteed to flip upon hitting the dip infront of me and the side embankment.... I pulled away and off to the side with the speeder. ITS A f**kING HONDA!! So I step out, barley holding my weight under jelly like knees, and watch a thugged out white boy (no racial issue, just what we say 'round here) step out of his car which is about 1 1/2" from the ground, with unpainted ground effects and an overly loud sound system. He walks up to me and says, and I quote. "Man, why d'f**k did you nail your breaks like dat!! Learn ta drive!" I calmly replied..."Fucking ricer honda peice of sh*t.....why were you speeding? Thought that industrial grey body kit with bondo smeared all over it gives you the right to speed in the f**kin rain?" There were a few words... then I he left with, "Wouldnt want to hurt your precious SUV" so I left with, "[I]Wanted to hurt the rice injected peice of sh*t Mommy and Daddy bought you."

rain and ricers... dont rice and drive please.
