I heard that ball joints are impossible

To remove. I heard that all the manuals procedures are wrong saying use an ordinary 2 arm puller, I tried a 5 ton until the threads on it were a little shot and the puller wants to twist off the arm. Some say the control arm has got to be taken off heated until red hot then use a hammer on it which is what the manual says not to do!

I also noticed that Toyota likes to sell the arm and ball joint as one unit saying they won't sell just the bushings.

I recently replaced my control arms and ball joints. I got the control arms from a junkyard with the old ball joints still attatched.

I tried everything I could think of to remove them from the control arms, including the hammer trick and a hefty 3-jaw puller. Eventually, I had to take them to a shop to get them apart. I have no idea how they did it.

So, yeah, they're pretty hard to remove.
