dome light wiring?

hey whats up. im gonna be hooking up some interioir neons in my moms car that turn on w/ the dome lights. she has the 2001 carmy speical edition. anyways does anyone know where the wiring for the dome lights orignates from? it would be easier to tap into the orgin than by the dome lights since there in the middle of the car. also does anyone know if the dome lights have a + or - trigger?? thanks

The dome light has only one (+) wire, it uses the srews that tap into the roof as the ground for the switch.

^ agreed. I would tap into the dome inthe center of the roof and run the wires back behind the paneling.

It should run down the side of the driver side b pillar...and then along the door sill to the fuse box.

You can basically also take the signal from the door jamb switch that activates the dome light....that's much easier to find. Forgot the colour.

yea i was thinking about the that door switch too but that would only turn the lights on when you open the door. i also want them on if i manually turn the dome lights on. so i have to use the dome like power instead.

thanks for all the input. its not gonna be a massive light show. just 2 dash liights. my mom saw my setup and she wanted some for her car, just not as involved as mine but ill still post some pics of it if you want

Use a RELAY, otherwise, you will blow the domelight (and whatever else is on that) fuse.

That's pretty cool that your mom wants some. I wish my mom would ask me to turbo her cam.
