Yeah man that should be good enough or even more then enough...You really only need a 200X2 all you need is what the max is per sub...Too much power could blow your subs...If you have nice speakers you should get a crossover and give them some power as well....Good Luck!

Fosgate 500x2 is more than what you need to power those 12s. Go for it.

Actually.....the words of wisdom I am always told is too much is better than too little. Unlike popular opinion...too little power is typically more harmful to a speaker than too much power. I tell most people definately get an amp that is RMS rated to at least the speaker's RMS level...if not closer to the max. See the magic is in the gain....if you feel you are overpowering your speakers and distorting...turn it down. Also remember...the majority of amp companies will advertise a RMS level at a 14.4 volt level...which for most factory stock cars can be difficult to maintain. Hell with my car and all of the work I have done....its hard for me to maintain 14.2...and before it was in the mid 13s...so keep that in mind.

I agree.

Just for an example if you have a 200watt amp and your pushing the hell out of it, its gonna clip and send a very distorted signal to your subs and you'll eventually blow em up.

Now if your pushing the same subs with a 500watt amp that leaves you some room to play with.

So to much power is better then to little.

Hey no problem...one thing I did remember...do some research...and see what the sub company allows power wise. I know with my JLs...they have a power band chart....and if you go above that recomended level...your speakers will be not covered by the factory warranty....don't think that by me saying more is better...that you need to get a 5000 watt amp and place it on an Optimus 10in sub...he he. Look @ the company's website and see about warranty information...or call if you have any concerns. I looked at that JL chart...and purchased amps that were RMS rated right there on the highest power point of that warranty chart...lol!
