What do you have in your car? I am currently working on a supercharger for my 95 camry 5s-fe I tried it once and it work pretty good. But something came loos. Thats all i had to say. I went to that track last weekend and i saw a black 95 cam 4 cyl running 17.7 or so, and mine ran an ugly 18.05.

PRACTICE !!!!

if its automatic your pretty much screwed till you start making horsepower.

If its a stick try rev'ing it up to 3000 to 4500rpm and feather the clutch at the launch. Crash the gears ( i.e. dont let off the gas and smash clutch in at redline slam the gear into the next gear). Or a more technical way off drag racing is to learn your power band... If you have a dyno sheet of your car, look at where peak power is made. For example my peak power is made between 6400 to 6600 rpm ( and my redline is 8000rpm) to keep the car in the sweet spot. I would have to shift at 7200rpm , so the rpms will fall back down to where my power band is climbing again. Do up into another gear if your nearing the end of the track and you still have a couple hundred rpms left.

good luck...

Crashing the gears= leave foot on the gas and step on the clutch hard and quickly. Then shift the the next gear with out taking your foot of the gas pedal. But you have to remember to shift hard!!!
Feathering the clutch= is when you kinda slip the clutch till you feel that your tires have gain traction then you let off the clutch. This is used when launching your car at high rpms off the line.

Faster on the 1/4 mile?

First buy a REALLY big jet turbine engine.
Second, use BONDO to attach the turbine to doors.
Third, lock doors. (after getting in)
Fourth, apply break and shift to N
Fifth and final, hit Big Red Button and release brake.
