Finally done.

They came out a bit rich, but it doesn't look bad. I'm quite happy with how they came out.

testors candy apple red model paint (translucent)
I put 2 layers of krylon tri-clear clearcoat on too.

Thanks, everyone. I just need to sand it down with some 2000-3000 grit or polishing compound. I think I'm going to polishing compound it lightly once it's fully cured (another couple days).

You helped me out quite a bit in my decisions on redding 'em out.

I ended up taping around the edges (where the black shows through) so it came out pretty clean.
