Are TRD struts a lot better then Tokico struts? since they cost twice as much as Tokico set. Are they too harsh and will be uncomfortable for everyday driving?
I am still deciding on which one I should get.. Tokico or TRD.

I got TRD Struts (from GB)& really like them.

They are well designed for performance & everyday driving.
Luc has them for quite a while.

But I really prefer that struts must perform well in harsh conditions too.

I've had them for almost a year now and like them a lot. I think the difference with the Bilstein is that it compresses upward, thus having a mono-tube design, whereas typically, the rod compresses downward. That's how I remembered it from reading Bilstein's website. They are/were definitely worth it.

Well, you won't find any luck with Gen4/Solara owners about your inserts since we all have sealed (non-serviceable) struts.

Got my TRD struts from GB as well. All I can say is they're amazing! I was expecting a bumpy harsh as hell ride but it didn't turn out that way at all. It's great for everyday driving and also high performance driving. But I'm using the stock rims/tires though, so I'm not sure how bumpy it would be with larger rims.

Buddy, you should have gone with the GB if you want TRD, it took me a while to decide too, but if you want to get TRD struts now, it would cost you a lot. Last time I checked with a dealer here, they coded like $2000 CDN. Tokico should be fine unless you really want the TRD. You can email this guy see if he still accept one more order, his alias is 98Toyozip, email: bmw53_us@yahoo.com

Thanks everyone,

I just bought the TRD struts from eBay, however, it doesn't come with the "isolator kit" people mentioned ealier. Does anyone know where I can get it?
I have a 2001 Camry

Yeah, I'm more confused now. You first said these were TRD inserts that would have gone into your Gen3, but now, they are struts? :???:

Yes, we are aware that there are serviceable and non-serviceable struts on the Gen3, but just not TRD inserts for the Gen3. Only inserts that I know for Gen3 are from Koni and Tokico.

well they have it for the gen 3 as well mine was from TRD japan i have jdm TRD's and they only have inserts for the gen 3 no struts... and this was only recent i just bought these in april... now problem is after 2000 they stopped making the strut assembly version so they just kept the inserts that's why i have the inserts from TRD
