Question Boost for meh?!

On of my buds on another site just offered up a turbo set up for me. Here is what he had to say about it.

i bought everything that i have seperately, it is not a kit that can be purchased. the turbo is an air research t3 with external adjustable wastegate, thie turbo is not new but is remanufactured and has not been used since, it has no shaft play at all and spins very freely, works like a brand new one, i have the turbo manifold that bolts directly onto the 5sfe engine, i also have a typhoon motorsports stage 2 bov. i have an intercooler but its not a front mount and im not sure how well it would work in a camry if it would even fit. also i have a blitz fatt turbo timer, it is fully automatic and sets the engine idle time according to how hard and long the car was driven. i will sell u everything i have for $700 plus shipping. if u are interested i can take pics of all the stuff and send it too u. i paid well over $1000 for all of it and it has never been used (the intercooler is used but holds pressure, so it is in good shape, like i said though im not sure if u can even use it on ur car). that is everything that u need if u want to run low boost (around 5psi) if u want to run more than that u will also need fuel injectors and a new map sensor, i can tell u which ones u need if u want to buy those but i never bought them. i would not suggest running over 10-11psi on stock internals though, the 5sfe cant really handle any more than that safely. if u have any more questions feel free to ask. if u see some stuff u want and some u dont just make me an offer.

Would I need a intercooler for a 5psi set up?
would I have to change any electronics?
Whats involved with turboed 5s-fe?

For a 5lb setup you won't need an intercooler, but around 10lbs or so It wouldn't be a bad idea. Of course it would be streetable, but you may have to work with the plumbing for your car.

edit*** I would recommend running about 10lbs and plumbing the intercooler if you want a decent amount of power. Make sure it's tuned well before you go off killing it though.

plumbing? You talkin bout the tube from the turbo to the filter to the intake manifold? So if I was to run say 5-8 psi....would I need a I.c. I also drive my car like im in a race....all the time. Keep in mind I AM TURBOTARDED.

1. What kind of manifold is it? If its off a 3S-GTE you need a adapter, otherwise the T3 turbo will not bolt up to it.

2. You also need a MAP sensor from a MR2 Turbo, 360cc injectors, oil feed & return lines, fittings, etc....

Theres other ways to add fuel and trick the ecu into thinking that your not boosting. However the above method is the easiet.

Not quite.

The intake for the turbo is connected to the compressor inlet.

Turbo (compressor discharge) ---> intercooler ---> throttle body.

Or turbo (compressor discharge) ---> throttle body, if you don't have a intercooler.

The last thing is the downpipe. Turbo (turbine discharge / outlet) ----> downpipe ----> exhaust.

By the way do a noob. Theres plenty of threads about turboing a 5S-FE.
