can someone tell me if its damagin to the car if i drive with o/d off?

how bout if i hav it off until the 3rd gear and switch it on?

i've heard mixed responses to both but i wanna know for sure...

I would imagine that it might be, but o/d puts the car in a lower gear and as a result you will definately burn more gas and possibly put uneccesary stress on the gears and engine, but who knows

well I just read your post on the other site, and it makes a lot of sense, i never knew much about automatics at all, but i do have to wonder one more thing, what's the little button on the display that says "power" for, i had my suspicios that it changed the ecu fuel map, but i never found out for sure, you have any idea? thanks

Try the "SEARCH" feature and type either "ECT", "ECT PWR" or etc. I think i've put in my 2 cents about it before in previous threads. And no it doesn't touch fuel mapping...only alters the shift pattern of the Tranny's ECU.
