To reiterate what Razo said, read the boards, books, websites etc...and get a basic understanding of engines, suspension and other automobile related topics. Once you've got a basic understanding, you can start looking to improve on aspects you're interested in.
Don't simply mod because "you can". Try and understand how it works (pros, cons, alternatives) There's tons of info out there - both good and bad. You're encouraged to ask questions (after you've searched on your own)
Your first investment should be a Haynes manual (or equivelant). They're readily avail online or at Pepboys
i dont agree with razo, how is he gonna become fimiliar with modding if he dont try anything , that the stupidest thing ive ever hered if you dont know how to mod then dont , bro do what u wanna do to your car if u like it then who cares
With a ton of money and a lot of wasted time... you can do this:
hehe.

epidemic I'm sure he'll still make stupid mistakes he can learn from. We all do...even after years of modding. There's always something to learn.
The point Razo was trying to make is that you can make better decisions by tapping into the vast amount of info already avail. at your finger tips. There's no need to waste money, time, effort when somebody in the past already gone through that. 2 seconds of research can save you hundreds or dollars and hours of frustration.
pretty much, decide what you want to do, body kit make it look infinetly better, look for a kit that you want, find out who sells it, ask about how it fits (very important, otherwise your kit'll look crappy and youll have to spend a lot of money to make it look good) i think most people stated out with a white camry....
