RPM low/Low power

Power of Camry 4 cyl. engine is low, when a/c is on RPM goes down to 600. Pl. advise me on the above problem.

Thanks.

Peter.

You may have a sticking Idle Air Control motor. It acts like a choke when the engine is cold and boosts the idle, it also boosts the idle when the a/c is on. But that does not explain your lack of power. Does your engine seem to run normally ? Not on 3 cylinders ? (Is it doing a noise of an old truck or somthg ?) You should check if there is a spark on all spark plugs, there check for fuel (is it arriving when you're cranking ?
If all that seems normal you'll have to check for compressions...

Thanks Nico for your advise. Changed the Cable set (plug wires), spark avialable on all 4 cyls also throttle body cleaning done. Engine is rough (Steering wheel vibrates) on idlle and more with a/c on.Is there any RPM sensor, how the a/c drag is sensed?
Compression yet to be checked. "Camry 2000 4 cyls 120k"

The idle should go up when the a/c is on.

Check the a/c idle up vsv.

im having similar problem too.. but not all the time.. its kinda random.. i notice that when the ac kicks on, it idles lower.. instead of higher like it used to.. and when its really low, it starts to make clicking noise around the alternator area..
88 le, where is the a/c idle up vsv located?

Its bolted to the firewall on my gen 2. Has a plug with 2 wires and 2 vacuum hoses going to it.

Not sure where it is on a gen 4.

Crap! I have that same prob on my '94 Camry LE. It's like the idle is a little rough. I mean, my forearm vibrates from holding on the steering wheel and what not. No A/C on though. This is like when I come to a red light. What can I do?

Check your engine mounts. See if they are cracked. Check your air filter too. Clean the throttle body plate.
