No Lights on A/C controls..

You guys know what might cause this? I've checked all the fuses and relays.....everything is Ok. The dimmer for the guages, shifter, and radio works fine except for the A/C control panel.

Man I've been having alot of electrical problems lately. I'm not good with this kind of stuff. I have so many homemade switches....its ridiculous. Right now I have a direct line from my batt. to the A/C compressor to just turn it on. Now there's something wrong with the lead connecting to the A/C Clutch.

I also have toggle switches for my power windows cuz' the master control switch is all jacked up. I even have a switch to light up the reverse lights manually just so I can pass inspection

I even have the "airbag" warning light on. If it has a blown fuse it turns off....if i put a fresh one in, the light goes On. Weird.
Oh yeah my speedometer and the odometer stop working a couple years ago....mechanics say its the speedo cable but our camrys are electronically controlled.

Oh well I still love this car If you guys know how I can fix any of these....I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Hmmmmm eehhhhh yes I see ! Go and see an auto electrician who has all the diagrams of your car... No other advice...

BTW you won't be able to get cold air that way as you won't use the a/c amplifier...

Are you talking about the switch connected directly from the battery to the A/C Compressor? Actually it works...cold air does come out. All i have to do is turn the A/C knob and flip the switch to power up/engage the Compressor.

Honestly I dont trust any auto repair shop. Man people easily get ripped off. Its ridiculous. Anyways do you guys know where I can get the electrical diagrams for the 3rd gen 92-96 4cyl camrys? Thanks

If a/c works, don't worry about the light.

The a/c amplifier is a kind of computer located in your dashboard (just behind glove box) : it is the unit that controls your a/c system. I am quite surprised you can use it that way to be honest. If you feel having the skills for it go ahead, you could perhaps start by checking this unit for instance. Another way to get diagrams is buy A Haynes manual, that might be a good investment considering all your problems...
Good luck !

why didn't you just take the time to fix all the problems instead of taking the time to wire toggle switches??
