Which tire size?

I want to buy some 17x7 rims for my 1999 V6 Camry which is lowered about 1.5 inches. Which size do I need to fit the wheel properly and also to avoid rubbing? Thanks for your help.

215/40/17 sounds good. I got 235/40/17 on mine, but they rub in the back if I put any weight back there or hit a bump.

On a camry anything thinner than a 215/45/17 or 215/50/17 looks ghey, the wheel well is way to big.

215/50/r17?

So 215 will surround a 7 inch wide rim just fine? I think I'll go with 50 for the height, because if you get 17 inch tires with (size 50 all around) it ends up being 25.5 inches from bottom to top of the tire, which is the same as stock tires(205/65/15)-25.5 inches, and I'd like to keep the height(bottom to top) the same as stock.

So we can agree that 215/50/r17's will fit rims that are 17x7 right?

Thanks for the help. You guys are great.
