Custom cai

Well i was getting tired of the short ram intake. It put out around 10 hp but just didn't seem enough. I went to autozone and bought one of those replacement air hoses for cars. Well after about 15 minutes i had it on and wow, I thought that the weapon-r dragon was loud in and of itself but now its like a train. Its nice cause it seems like the low end is regained and that i have gained some more highend. For the 9 dollars it seems to be worth it.

Ill get pics soon. Well the weapon-r has been on the dyno with alot of cars and produced gains from 8-14 hp. It says on the site a 10 hp gain. The piping is a 3 inch pipe and the tube that i got was a 3 1/19 so I put it ouver the silicone 3 inch connector and clamped it.

It was kinda a pain trying to get the pipe to get into the fender i prolly ended up putting holes in the hose iteself but everything seems ok now. Well that and that the filter is kinda put on oddly so i gotta buy another question.

My intake gained me 100+ WHP... But my intake looks funny though because it looked like a snail

10HP from a short ram... it is possible though. Most important thing about power increase is the mental effect

haha tony anyways here is a dyno page http://www.sromagazine.com/article/p...take/dyno1.jpg There is also a page on the weapon-r site that compares intakes and results.

Hey is there any way to stop water from getting in? Can you get a foam filter and put it on the opening where the air goes in, and not spend like 70 dollars on an aem bypass?

So True

10hp at the crank?
Maybe.

2hp at the wheels?
Sounds about right.

Going to feel the difference?
Hell No!

Get anymore air then your stock intake could take in?
Nope.

You may think your pulling in more air, but the difference between the two is not the piping, but the filter.

Oh! One last one!
Losing low-end torque?
For Sure!!!!

^ more like 2hp at the crank....

maybe 2hp at the wheels w/ a full cai....

and those dno sheets....guess who pays the magazines....

short ram intakes = nice sound
but other than that, you're mostly just sucking in hot air

damn....somebody's still gotta dyno their car w/ stock airbox and then a short ram, and then a cai and tell us the diff

otherwise, this topic has already been beaten many times into the ground

well, ive seen actual dyno results of a stock airbox VS shortram VS CAI on a MKIII Supra N/A... and there is about 4-5hp difference between each stage advance... well, more like a 2hp from airbox to shortram, then 5 from shortram to cai
