driveshaft issues on 5spd AWD

hey- been a long time.

my Haynes manual says i need to remove
my driveshafts so i can remove my tranny to get at my clutch (it's hooped).

i have everything disconnected (tie rod,
steering knuckle, etc.) and it just says to
take out the driveaxle (8A-10.11).
question is HOW? do i pry on something,
or yard on something? don't wanna
kill my driveshafts too.

any suggestions? thnx...

front drive axles? On most of the 5-speed gen2 Camrys (both the FWD ones I have worked on) they just pop out. It took a pry bar, but its not that hard. Try not to bend anything if you are re-using them! If there are bolts around where it enters the tranny, it is a bolt-in type, if not, they just pop in.

yeah- can't see any bolts around them,
just a semi-circular housing.

will get back to ya when they're out.

some progress...

got the pass side out in no time, but the
drivers' side is being a beatch. can't get
the same shallow angle to apply light
force to remove it. my 2x4 piece got
mangled so i tried using an old chisel
against the three raised notches in the
hopes of budging it but no go.

any suggestions?

Hmmm... nope. I just used a pry bar on my axles to get them out... I was replacing them, so I didn't care about some scratches or bends. Good luck. They should just pop out with the right amount of force.
