Well, I've run into some fun problems while doing a brake upgrade on my Gen2 (1991) Camry LE V6. Was putting new pads/rotors on and kinda wanted to find out why I had no hydraulic pressure as well.... seemed the brake master cylinder was hosed. Well, while on my way back from the parts store (after finding out they couldn't have parts for one until Thursday, ugh), the water pump seized up and the car overheated about a mile from home. Got to push the car into the driveway, steam coming from under the hood....
So, the point is... should I even continue fixing up the car? I've wanted to have a good-looking fast Gen2 Camry for a while - while keeping the sleeper look - but I don't know if it's worth it. I know I'm overreacting, and it's all just an isolated incident, but.. I'm worried the current transmission is on it's last leg as well. I'd like to convert to a 5-speed with a fairly strong tranny so an engine swap would be possible, but I don't know the costs associated with this (and I'm not rich :wink
Any opinions or suggestions?
Sorry if I seem bitter, but I'm stuck driving my old car (89 dodge spirit on it's second engine, 255k miles on the odometer), and I miss driving a decent vehicle.
Thanks guys...
