My Camry= Theft Magnet

Since I moved here 5 months ago, my car has been broken into twice. Today at 4pm the broke into my car in front of my office. By the time Got down from the 10th floor they were gone! My alarm paged me and I looked outside to see someone in my car!! My dash around the radio totally F**cked up. Popped my trunk and stole my subs and box.. but luckily the amp and xm where hidden. Time to mount my radio in the glove box and fiberglass my entire trunk.. Ahhh this sucks...

there my mini vent...

What kind of alarm do you have?

And I know how you feel. My 89 Eagler Premier was a theft magnet. Its too bad for them that theres was absolutely nothing in it that was not broken or worth taking out.

Cool

Left my head unit on when I first wired it up. (It would stay on with the key out duh!) I walked about 50yards from my ES and thought hmmm This doesn't feel right. Take another few steps and the horn starts going off.

Saw a guy with a coat hanger pulling my door lock to unlocked (ES's have no window frame) take off running. Luckily he fucke dup and his timing was off, you gotta pull the lock AND the handle quickly behind it, cause the ECU automatically locks the door back LoL!

Unfortunately I know that 'cause I've had to break into my car twice doing that hahahahaha.

*edit*
Don't get me started on the stolen chrome lugnuts... They love those things in the ghetto...

if this occured at your work parking lot, maybe they can reimburse you for your stolen goods? its worth a shot, plus... you got nothing to lose. that lot needs to be safe and secure... at least a rent-a-cop to stroll around to scare the jerks

Well as soon as I get my new radio, this is what I am gonna do.

Remote mount the faceplate to my visor.
Reinstall my OEM radio.. not connected though..
Hide my actual cd unit in the center console where it will be mounted to the chassis and cover up totally..

I figure if someone looks in my car they will see the OEM stereo and not bother to jack with my car. Having the faceplate in the visor will just make it easier to hide when you go to dinner or a movie.

My insurance wonders why my car gets messed with, I mean its only a 4 door camry..right? Forgot the carbon fiber hood, or bodykit..oh well...

Things could be worse.. they coulda stole the entire car..

I hear you, dawg. My 94 Accord got jacked twice. A 94. Come on. I had nothing on the outside and I ain't even have a system in it. My advice: Wherever you roll, seek out the bully and clock him right in the face with an elbow punch or something. I did that and ain't nobody touched my Camry. It's all about marking your territory. Oh, and packin heat. That helps, too.

dude i know the feelin and it sucks. i was at a football game for my high school and i had been in the parkin lot before-hand listening to music with some friends and then i locked up the car an went inside the stadium. the ONE TIME i didn't take off my face plate is the time i get jacked. they broke the little rear "opera-window" and opened my car up and the alarm supposedly didn't go off cuz the parkin lot security said they didn't hear a thing all night (elite security sucks...those dudes in the yellow jackets...douchebags) anyway all they stole was my faceplate not even the whole unit so i had to call insurance an pay a 100 dollar deductible an they gave me a whole new stereo an new window so i dunno call your insurance they'll cover you.

yea insurance covers everything.. this stereo the just replaced 4 months ago when my car was busted into then.

No deductible too.. love that portion...they had my car locked up at the glass shop last night so nothing would happen to my car and then my window was fixed this morning.. love that quick service

To be effective, you'd have to remove (or otherwise disable) your trunk release and somehow fix the rear seats so they don't fold down...

I know the feeling, someone broke into my '92 Mustang GT to steal a stereo that didn't even have a CD player in the head unit - it was that old! They did over $1000 in damage to the door & interior, and the only thing they got was a useless faceplate to a 7 year old stereo. It was a waste of their time, and a huge hassle on my end...

Do they have video cameras where you work?
