hey Ratko i had been meaning to ask you a question. I'm going to swap an mr2 e153 into my auto 5sfe that i just got a good lead on in NY. I also got a good lead on some 91 mr2 turbo axles. I thought i read somewhere that I need one V6 and MR2 axle if i use the mr2 tranny. Is this right? And if so will the 91mr2 axle work with my cam?

I hope you know that the tranny will not work as is.

You need to do some modifications to it, so that it'll work in a FWD application.

Theres a write up about the modifications on celica.net.

if i am not mistaken, the e153 off a newer v6 should be the same or better, it will be stronger, and already set up for fwd

the e153 is the manual tranny used on the V6 Camry and the turbo MR2s

I would like to pick up a nice V6 one to help with compatablilty issues but I am getting this e153 for dirt cheap and its in NY, so i don't ahv eto worry about shipping so its really the best option. Besides the shift linkage I think the only other issue is which axle to use. I just need to get that squared away.

Dave you know i'll be calling ur ass to do the swap.
