Angry auto camry driving like a manual with a messed up clutch???

wow.. i realy have no idea whats goin on...
i did an oil change myself today for the 1st time
then it rained
some water got on my fuse box and battery but i dont think it has anything to do with my problem
after i drained the oil and put the 4 quarts in i let it run for 5 min
then i threw it in reverse and it wasnt moving
once i reved the engine to 5000 the car reversed
when i throw it in drive the same thing happens untill i get into 2nd
my BRAKE light on the dash also goes on and off at diff times
i really dont know wtf is wrong
i also have white smoke coming out the exhaust

I hope you didnt drain out your atf fluid....You might have gotten mixed up by draining the atf fluid instead of the engine oil. Check your oil level and if it is over the full line, you've drained out the atf or diff fluid.

Cool

Yeah i think he drained the 4 quarts of A/T fluid that are in the transmission pan instead of his oil. If so, he needs to drain ALL the oil from his car (this time using the OIL pan!) before he seals fail. He also needs to go and have a full flush done on the A/T. Not a fluid change... A ful flush.

I'm sorry but you got problems. Take your car to the shop and have them fix it. And grow up.

Thanks for the comedy relief!

Everybody makes mistakes, no biggie. But you sound like you're not really mechanically inclined. So do you self a big favor and buy a Chiltons or Haynes Manual from the auto parts store. I'm an ASE Certified Master Mechanic and I still buy a manual for all my cars. Saves alot of wasted time and money, well worth the small investment.

haha, i can see this becoming one of those threads that spreads around the internet automotive forums, and people register from all over just to say, "Ford Pinto Racer forums knows about this"....

it's only a matter of time..
