A/C & Alternator Question

I just recently took my alternator to a mechanic when my it died and he told me it was just the brushes that needed changing. After that my batt. light stayed but a week later when I had on my neons, fogs, lights, and sound system loud I noticed it came on, but then went off. Now I notice that sometimes when I have on my A/C it would come on and then go off while I'm driving. It seems that only when the A/C is on is when the batt. light comes on. What could be the cause for this? Thanks

Just a guess, but your belt may be slipping a bit & not allowing the alternator to turn.

^^ I gotta check if it's that then. It might be though cause when the mech. put it on it was too tight, so I had to adjust it, but it was my first time adjusting a belt. So I'm gonna double check it.

^YUP^.......Loose belt slipping when A/C clutch engages.
