I was just calling around to see how much it'd be to get the TRD supercharger installed ... It'd be around $800 and the supercharger itself would be around $2747 from that toyotaparts4u.com site.

I just have the stock V6 for now... Anything else I need to upgrade on my engine before even looking at the supercharger?

Doesn't sound too expensive to me... TRD SC for under $3k actually sounds like a deal, I think.

id get pistons, rods, supercharger, cams, and a 10psi pulley

Depends on your eventual plans. If you are planning to put ridiculous amounts of boost, then be prepared to do the above. Otherwise TRD guarentees that it will work with the specified application and will not void factory warrent if properly installed. (In other words you dont need to check anything)

Maybe do some cleaning (engine bay, throttle body)

I say DIY! Assuming you have requisit tools, patience, friends, and good familiartiy with the engine

I don't plan on a huge amount of boost, but maybe a bit more upgrading than the "stock" boost. Maybe I should look up a DIY...

And I just say it's expensive because I'm jobless right now... applied for Bestbuy the other day... 75% of my cash is going into my ride

Just use that car as your DD for now, pay off like, all your debt/bills, then and only then could you go about putting over 2k worth of parts into your car.

i'd personally wouldn't suffer with modding the car with every weeks paycehck. i'd start banking my paychecks for the next few months THEN start looking into that SC. that way, you have the money for all the required/neccessary SC components..

I think the reason their supercharger is so high priced as are most other superchargers is the plain fact that they are only going to sell a few hundred of them and need to recoup all their R&D up front spending.

If everyone had one it would definitly be cheaper, but would it now be worth having???

I'm just waiting for the release of a Gen5 S/C. One that will work with the VVT-i.

Dude aren't s/c's "Bolt On" They shouldn't be like realllllllll hard to install but will still be a little tuff. As to tools rent some from like home depot or something.

There are other places online that might sell the supercharger for cheaper. I saw one a week ago on ebay sold for under 1700. Just gotta keep an eye out. Once you do get a blower, you might want to look at fuel upgrades in order to move forward. Good luck.
