Smoke coming out of muffler?!

huh.... could a short ram intake on a 4 cyl 96 camry have anything to do with the car spewing out a little bit of smoke out of the exhaust..... the car runs just fine, no warning lights or anything.... ideas?

p.s.... changed from regular cheap oil to mobil 1 synthetic about 2000 miles ago.

Is it blue? Mine will do this every now and then(97 Camry) If this is the case check your valve seals that might be the prob. But who knows.

is it constant the whole time its running? or does it just let out a lil puff when ya first start it?

white smoke came out of it after start up, and about 2 minutes after leaving the house, i noticed some white smoke coming out of the back... i was wondering, its not like its cold outside, its like 70 degrees.

it wasnt big, it looked like when you start a car on a cold cold morning, when its like 20 degrees outside. i was just wondering if the intake had something to do with it? i'm having second thoughts about putting the stock intake back on there.

Uhuh, start of another wayward head gasket. You can check the plugs, usually one or two will be different colours due to the coolant.

Im kind a newbie when it comes to engines, i mean, i know how it all works, but i never had time to know what a head gasket is, can someone explain what it is, and also find a website that has a diagram that shows the engine parts and what its use is for and what not.

It's the seal between the block and the head. If it leaks you get coolant and oil getting mixed. It's the coolant being burned that causes the white smoke.
