Talking Finally some new modifications for my Camry

Well, it's been quite a while since I've been on (maybe some folk will remember me though). I'm finally getting around to some more modifications to my 96 Camry LE (aka. The 57 Ford is almost done, so I am now able to focus some attention away from it). Well, moving on to what I'm doing to the Camry now:

1) Level-10 PTS transmission rebuild kit (www.levelten.com)
2) IPT Valve-body modifications (www.importperformancetrans.com)
3) Pro-Torque torque converter modifications (www.protorque.com)
4) RIPP headers (www.rippmods.com)
5) custom intake manifold with Tacoma throttle body
6) APEXI SAFC-II
7) MSD timing retard and control module
8) 17x7 Velox PG-Rev10 11.5lbs rims with Pirelli P-zero nero M+S 205-40-17 tires

The nice thing about this is...this will all be done by the end of the month

Well, that's all, hopefully some of the people I used to see on here will catch up with me on this thread.

Holy Shit. Your gonna get all that by the end of the month.

How much money is that?

And instead of headers why not just save up and get the kit?

heheh, actually, I'm not going with boost (hence the headers). I'm having a custom stroker built...11.5:1 compression forged pistons, pauter rods, titanium valves/retainers/springs, custom knife-edged stroker crank, sleeved block (for the 3mm overbore). I have a feeling that this will be a whole hell of a lot more fun and more unique than everything else I've seen out there for the 5SFE

yes, a full engine rebuild will be a better course... also, look up on custom cold air intakes here on this forum (if you're gonna go that route), if not just prop a k&n air filter into your stock air box.

You should've tried doing a search. I know I've posted kits before.

By the way, I'm en route to a 5SFE build-up as well, although I doubt my progress will be moving as quickly as his is.

I already have a custom intake done with a blitz SUS filter (won't be going cold air though). As for engine rebuilds, I would contact www.importperformanceparts.com (the import division of flatlander racing). They are the guys who are going to do my block. You can check out current pics of the engine at www.cardomain.com/id/blaeceaelf

ps. ripley, I really don't have a specific number in mind, but when I am complete, I will definetely post up the dyno results and let everyone see what it eventually came out as.

theres no point in even modding anything else w/o a cold air... a short ram just sucks in hot air...

actually, doing the high compression stroked block will increase the horsepower substantially with or without a cold air intake, as will the valve job, headers, etc... A cold air intake will usually give you a maximum of around 5hp, and although it does pull in cooler air, it is not necessary for the function of the engine and would be a negligable change in horsepower for the risk it poses to the motor when it comes to large puddles, and other water hazards.
