The other day as i was tryig to enter my gen3, i attempted to lift the door handle as anyone would apon entering their car. I then hear crack , then snap from inside the door!! My door handle apparently cracked from the inside, not allowing enterance from the drivers side. Now i have to enter from the passenger side, and climb over the center console, till the new handle comes in!!Try explaining to your date why your climbing over the freakin console to get in the drivers seat!!! I was just wondering if this was a common problem on 92cam le's!??

Hey that happend to me twice one in the front passenger seat and one in the rear passenger seat. I replaced the door handle myself. Its an easy job and all you need to do is purchase the door handle, and remove all the screws off the inside of the door, pull off the inside door piece and take off the old door handle and the new one in. Sorry I can't really go into detail, but im pretty sure you'll get it.

Dont feel bad. One of my friends did that to mine. Broke the interior hook on the handle so it doesnt catch now. Thus meaning I have to enter from the other side. Oh well $35US, Just such a small thing causing such a big problem.

Outside door handle. If you take your door panel off you can see what the mechanics of the locking system, door handle, etc...
A hooking piece broke off so the handle is all flimsy now. Only problem is getting in there. I have a 93 4cyl.
