ignition and start up probs

alright long story short i have an 88 camry(139k miles) and its giving me a heck of a deal with the ignition and start ups.

1) key insert for ignition is screwed or it could be keys but the car can basically be turned on with only about 1mm or a bit more of the key inserted. basically just need to change ignition.

2) when i turn to crank the car it starts to crank but when i let go and try to turn the engine on again it makes like a big grinding noise basically like when your engine is already on and u turn the key again. yes that noise.

any suggestions on the 2nd problem unless u guys got sometin for both thats fine by me. not a big deal with the first one but eh if u want to say sometin go ahead. im all ears

maybe your starter is sticking, that would it explain the grinding noise after trying on the second time. might be getting to be that time for a new starter
