Wheel Rubbing Strut, please help

I have a 4 cyl. LE with 14 inch rims. Both front wheels on the inside are rubbing the bottom of the strut where it mounts to the hub. They've been rubbing a while because there are gouges in the wheel and now they are no longer technically rubbing, but I'm wondering what's going on.
Anyone else have this problem? Do I need bigger wheels?
(I've made no suspension modifications, it's bone stock).

The tire rubbing or the rim? If tire rubbing, your tire is too tall or too wide or both. If rim is rubbing, rim is too wide or wrong offset. If everything is stock, something is bent.

i would say that these tires are too big for the car... are they factory? maybe came from another car and someone threw them on this car just cause the bolt pattern fit...

or the lower spring seat on the struts could be bent, the tires should never be tall enough to hit the struts.

accident yes....
it hit the left front...
they are stock wheels and stock size tires (P195/70R14)
its not really rubbing the strut body, it rubbing where the hub meets the strut, directly above the where the top bolts are... its really mystifying me, if it were one side, i'd say something's bent, but its both sides
