wiring woes

Here are my particulars:

I have a 91 Camry
Australian Headlights with fog lights
ES 250 Dash with fog light button

Here is my problem:

I want to wire my aussie fog lights up to the Lexus Fog Light button.

Here is what it looks like:

There are four wires coming out of the fog light button

One green with a orange stripe
One solid green
One red with black stripe
One red with blue stripe

I already have a power source and know to ground it, but I don't know what to do with these wires. What are they each for and could anyone give me some direction.

Thanks in advance for help.

Matt

i would guess that there are 4 wires becuase there are 2 foglights. positive and negative for each.

i would also surmise that the reds are for positive and the greens are for negative..

guess and check?

This is my guess:

Red with black stripe = output to foglight

Red with blue stripe = output to foglight

Solid green = ground or constant (+12V)

green with orange stripe = constant (+12V) or ground

If you have a DMM you can check for continuity with the switch on/off.

You also need to wire up a relay.

Hold that thought guys.

Two wires are the switch and the other two are for the switch illumination. (Dash lighting) Get a continuity tester, with the switch off, use that to figure out which two are the bulb. That would leave the other two leads for the switch. & yes you would need a relay unless your car came with fogs originally.
