Parking Brake lights [Help]

My car has been fine for a long time when today, all of a sudden, I see my parking brake light is on.. the big red "B R A K E" is styaing on in my dash.. I don't know waht could've caused it, and yes.. the parking brake is off.. i pulled it.. but the light is still staying on..

The parking brake light switch could be sticking or malfuntioning.

To get to the switch you need to remove the center console. You'll then see the switch near the back of the parking brake handle.


If your low on brake fluid and/or brake pads are worn, it'll also trigger the brake light. Check this first before checking the parking brake light switch.

that happened to me b4, but mine was on for a while, n off for a while, very unstable.................i changed the brake fluid, n it didnt happen again

Changing break fluid helps?

Problem solved..
Just drove around the GSP for a little while and the light went out by itself.. i think it was stuck.. so just disengage the brake and drive around.. make sure you use the brake alot.. get it warm and it should go away
