I haven't seen any real engine mods on the 3MZFE. With
225 HP @ 5,600 RPM
240 lbs.-ft. @ 3,600 RPM
there's no real reason to spend on engine mods. I've installed a performance muffler on mine. I have plans for some type of CAI system, a JET ECU re-programming and maybe a supercharger in the future.

Perhaps you should research jet's "engine programming"
If by 'engine programming' you mean buying a resistor at ratshack so your ECU reads your air temps as being lower, than sure, it's 'engine programming.'
next season you will see a crazy 3mz coming from shiftgate performance, and featured in my new project car. i cant say what we are going to do with it, but it will be nasty. once you all see that, you will all want some 3mz upgrades...

I did research it thouroughly. Everyone here tends to think that it's all hot air. Well I've talked to them and they agreed to have me drive down to their shop down in Huntington Beach California.
The turn around time is about 2 hours to re-program the ECU. I told them of my desire to have my car Dyno'ed before the re-progam and again right after. Thay said not a problem.
My understanding is that what they do is re-program the fuel/ air ratio to make more horsepower taking into account the mods that you've done to your car.
They seem to be reputable. I'll hold my final judgement till next spring when I do this.

I'm with you.
I only stated that for the average joe. As you see I want a TRD super charger if one ever becomes available, a CAI and a ECU reprogramming. More ponies makes me happy.
