my car's problems -- help!!

hi guys, this morning i tried to start my car.. i cranked it and it dies.. i tried again but all i hear is click.. most of the time, when it doesnt work the first time, i tried again and giving some gas and revving it to 4000 rpm and it would stay alive. (thats another problem). so this time the car wouldnt start.. and i popped the hood and check the battery (my first guess) and i found out that the battery connector was loose. so i tightened it and tried to start it.. and it worked on the first try.. usually i have to revv it to 4000 rpm.. after it idles, i hear rattling sound from the belt area.. so my question is:

1. where can i get a better battery connector?
2. how can i fix the idle problem (so that i dont have to revv the car when i start it)? i tried cleaning the iac by spraying TB cleaner to the little hole on the TB. and it didnt work..
3. is my idle problem somewhat related to ECU issues? because i noticed this morning when the battery was disconected (similar to resetting ECU) the car started just fine after reconnecting the battery
4. does the rattling sound contribute to the idle problem? (i've read previous post about rattling sound from the drive belt area.. my guess is its my water pump)

oh.. sorry i forgot to mention that i just got the battery replaced a year ago.. and i believe it still good.. its just that the connector was loose.. probably it popped when i cranked it.. (considering high amount of current needed to start the car) when i reconnected it, it works just fine

i would take the IAC out and clean it first for the idle. I just had the same problem and got a new IAC for 255. the belts making nioce could be time for new belts or they might need tighting. THe EGR is not a problem or else ur check engine light would be on.

rattle is also caused by low idle. when my car was a very low rpm closed to zero, the engine started to knock and make loud nioce.

^ yeah i notice that also.. but it seems like the whole engine is shaking.. instead of a rattle..
but anyways.. i switch to a higher octane gas (91) last week and it seems to start easier.. i know its not suppose to be that way, i cant think of any reason for better start with 91 octane gas.. could anyone explain this??
