4 those who swapped their suspension.... question

i'm thinking of getting lowering springs....(tein s.tech to be exact)

i wanted to know for those who dropped their Gen 5's how long they expect their shocks to last w/ these springs.

or if you swapped out ur stock springs for anything else.. lemme hear abt it and gimme ur opinion

They could last for a few months to a couple years. All you're doing is adding more stress to the seals in the stock strut by lowering it. ...the seals will blow when they blow you're just shortening their life span.

might i ask what the avg lifespan is of a stock shock?

Mine we're on my gen3 til about 95000mi when I put on my Tokicos. You just kinda bounce check em til you notice one going... a Haynes Manual might note the avg life span or you could call any auto shop or dealership

Why are you buying Tein springs? Why not TRD or Eibach?

Just wondering because I just bought a set of TRD's that are sitting in my trunk. As far as the stock shock question this is what Eibach says.

What happens to the warranty of the OEM shock when combined with Eibach Pro-Kit?
There is no change of the warranty. Actually, the weight of the car and the required basic dynamic work remain the same. Though with special progressive characteristic of the Pro-Kit, the damper is challenged more and usually makes it wear out faster.
