dumb question- how to find out what generation your car is?

How do you know what generation your car is?

I have a 2004 camry... I'm guessing it's the most recent generation? But I have no clue what number Toyota is on...

What are all the generations of the Toyota Camry?
Answer:
Gen1 = 83-86
Gen2 = 87-91
Gen3 = 92-96
Gen4 = 97-01
Gen5 = 02-06

Half generations are usually the last two years and are made obvious by minor body and mechanical improvements.

Full generations (aka model year) are usually 5 year spans. Differences are made obvious by a full body change and, but not always, major mechanical changes.
