Parking Brake Light on hard braking

Just noticed this the other day.

on my gen2 camry, if i hit the brakes hard, not to the point of locking but hard enough, the parking brake light comes on.

does this mean anything? I dont remember it ever happening before, and ive had the car for 2 years.

Make sure the brake fluid is at its proper level. Low brake fluid may sometimes cause the parking brake light to come on because this has happened to me before.

I'm not sure if this will help but if you know how to bleed your brakes, that may help to make sure there's no air in your system. But I doubt it's related to your brake light coming on during hard braking... if you can't find out what the problem is, it's better to bring it to a mechanic to have them check it out because brakes are not something to be waited on.

To the LP !!! I would not leave it that way it is not safe.

I think you found the problem when you lifted up on the E-Brake to make it go away. If you want to disable something safer unplug the connector for that switch instead.

My Gen4 is also haven't that on and off light while driving. I checked the fluids and they are fine. I might have to get them bleeded if that will solve it.

Im having the same exact problem now. I was doing a search so that way I dont repost something already explained. But I dont see a definitive answer to your problem yet.

I also get the brake light when driving on uneven surfaces. I just changed my brakes about 4 motnhs ago and they are still basically new.
