if i get xenon/krypton bulbs for my car, will the wire melt because of the excessive current withdrawn, or can i just plug-n-play?

I put XENON bulbs in my car... its been well over 3 months... nothing so far!

how many xenon bulbs did u put in? did u put it in the highbeams, and signal lights?

Depends on the wattage guys...if it's 55 watts, you're okay. If it's anything higher, there's a chance of melting your harness. If it says 55watts>85 watts output, you're still okay because the 85 watts output means nothing.

I made a wiring harness with 14 gauge wire and I used 65 watt high beam bulbs in my low beams...the harness finally melted after about a year...so there's a good chance higher wattage bulbs will fry your 18 gauge stock wiring harness.
