Problems with Rear Dropzone Springs

I am trying to install my dropzone springs, however my mechanic has shown me that the rear dropzone springs for my 93 camry are too short to be compressed. On the rear they are over 2" from the top of the spring/strut assembly. I didn't have this problem on the front struts as they were long & able to be compressed. My new tokico struts (in serviceable struts) are therefore too long for the rear dropzone springs along with the stock struts if I try to use them to get the dropzone's to fit. If I install & use the car with this huge gap, when my rear wheel hits a pothole the suspension would probably fly apart.

Did anyone have this problem with there rear struts using dropzone or any other lowering springs?

Atleast you don't need a spring compressor to put the new springs in.

How about fabricating a larger (taller) spring seat (insulator) to make up the difference?

Got the dropzones on...

Although the rear springs were much shorter then the top of the assembly I went with the installation and the springs ride really nicely with my tokico shocks. I am still worried that if I go over a pothole and the suspension opens up, it might come apart and missalign? You think this could ever happen?

If that happens I'll probably cut & machine my strut piston rods shorter or maybe go with that insulator idea...

Don't worry, my coilover got no compression before install. As soon as you put the car down the spring will compress. The sturt will slow the wheel from dropping when you hit a pot hole. Unless you spent a few sec on the hole, the wheel won't drop.

if youre still paranoid, grab a drill, some wire, drill a hole in the lower strut and wire in the spring so it stays.
